Avionik Updgrade inclusive ADS-B Out for Dornier 228
In order to achieve an LPV (RNP APCH) approach feature for a Dornier DO 228, the aircraft has been upgraded with a dual Garmin GTN System consisting of one GTN750Xi and one GTN635Xi within this STC while adding various other benefits.
The GTN#1 (GTN750Xi) will have the following functions:
- GPS/FMS 1 with LPV
- COM 1 (25/8.33Khz)
- NAV 1
- Weather Radar Display (was updated to GWX75)
- Traffic Display from the CAS67B (TCASII)
- Digital Radar Altimeter Integration as LPV requirement
- Inbuilt TAWS replaces existing EGPWS
- Air Data Interface
The GTN#2 (GTN635Xi) will have the following functions:
- GPS/FMS 2 with LPV
- COM 2 (25/8.33Khz)
In addition, the avionics were upgraded with the following functions and new equipment:
- Sandel SN4500: It was used as a replacement for the analogue HSIs in order to provide proper approach scaling for LPV as well as GPS messages shown directly on the display. The SN4500 interfaces with the existing systems such as the course system as well as the autopilot system.
- ADS-B Out and In
- Additional VHF 3
- Air Traffic Receiver AT-1 and Air Traffic Display Integration incl. Antennas.
- First EASA Integration of the Garmin GI275

ADS-B Out and EHS for Bombardier CRJ-100/200
The European commission regulation No 1207/2011 amended by the regulation No 1028/2014 and 386/2017 requires all aircraft heavier than 5.7 tons or faster than 250kts (maximum cruise true airspeed) being equipped with a Mode S Level 2 transponder with Mode S elementary surveillance (ELS), enhanced surveillance (EHS) and ADS-B 1090MHZ extended squitter (ES) capabilities. This is valid for aircraft with an individual certificate of airworthiness first issued before 8th of June 2016. FTI provides the design and certification of an ADS-B Out and Enhanced Surveillance (EHS) system to the Bombardier CL-600-2B19 series.
Models: CL-600-2B19 (CRJ-100/CRJ-200)
Approval: EASA 10075664
ADS-B Out for Embraer EMB 145-Series
The Embraer EMB-145 was modified to be in compliance with the European commission regulation No 1207/2011 amended by the regulation No 1028/2014. Therefore, the existing Honeywell RCZ-833K Transponders will be modified to DO-260B (ADS-B out) capable units RCZ-833M. The Radio Management Units (RMU) was modified to allow the additional status and control indication on the ATC/TCAS control page. Both IC-600 (Integrated Computer) will receive a Software upgrade via a Honeywell SB. This allows the indication of the ADS-B failure messages to be implemented into the Engine Indicating and Crew Alerting System (EICAS) in the direct field of view of the flight crew.
Instead of upgrading the existing Honeywell GPS receiver, a standalone Garmin GDL88W GPS system is being installed dedicated as a position source for the transponders only. An additional GPS antenna will be installed on top of the fuselage.
Models: EMB-145, EMB-145ER, EMB-145EU, EMB-145EP, EMB-145LR, EMB-145LU, EMB-145MP, EMB-145MK, EMB-135ER, EMB-135LR, EMB-135BJ
Approval: EASA 10067863, FAA ST04423NY, FATA-STC03080
ADS-B Out for Beechcraft King Air C90GTi, B200 and Premier 1/1A
The Beechcraft King Air series as well as the Beech 390 (Premier 1/1A) was modified to be in compliance with the European commission regulation No 1207/2011 amended by the regulation No 1028/2014. Therefore, the existing Rockwell Collins TDR-94D Transponders was modified to DO-260B (ADS-B out) capable units.
An annunciator installed in the center instrument panel will provide a means to indicate a failure condition of the ADS-B out system. An annunciator with an internal Arinc 429 Decoder will be used to extract the ADS-B Failure Bit out of the Transponders Diagnostic Word. This will allow a separate indication of an ADS-B Function Failure and an ADS-B Device Failure. The annunciator will have the capability to indicate the failures of the ADS-B Function Failure separately for System 1 and 2. One 1A Circuit Breaker installed in the R/H Circuit Breaker panel will provide power for the integrated Arinc 429 decoding modules.
The additional wiring between GPS, Transponders and the Annunciator will be routed by using existing cross over connectors through the FWD pressure bulkhead and the AFT pressure bulkhead respectively.
Models: C90GTi, B200, B200C, B200GT, B200CGT, 390
Approval: EASA 10066166, FAA SA04347NY, FATA-STC030106
ADS-B Out for Citation JetĀ 525-Series
The Cessna Citationjet 525, 525A and 525B was modified to be in compliance with the European commission regulation No 1207/2011 amended by the regulation No 1028/2014. Therefore, the existing Rockwell Collins TDR-94D Transponders was modified to DO-260B (ADS-B out) capable units.
